In January 2009, hosted jointly by Wirral Council and the University of Chester, the NEEC returns to its northern roots with a programme which embraces ALL the professions working within the Every Child Matters framework.
A full two years in the planning, NEEC 2009 propels this prestigious 105 year old educational conference into the new world of multiprofessional working.
For the first time, social care, education, research and young people’s health are all being addressed, and to the highest level.
Our political delegates, too, will see a marked difference, with their own programme of masterclasses to help them translate policy into practice. It’s a new world for all of us - and NEEC is embracing it.

Delegates to NEEC 2009 will have the busiest three days imaginable.
From the minute you arrive, you will embark on intense learning, sharing
and discussion in a conference supported throughout by young people. You may
be challenged, you will be enlightened.
This is NEEC like never before...
you won’t be disappointed.
Conference President is Baroness Estelle Morris.
Keynote input comes from:
Professor Sir David Watson
Dame Gillian Pugh
Christine Davies
Liz Railton
Peter Fahy
Rt Revd David Urquhart
Dr David Colin-Thome
Political speakers include:
The Rt Hon Ed Balls Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families
David Willetts (Cons) Shadow Secretary of State for Innovation, University and Skills
David Laws (Lib Dems) TBC Shadow Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families
A packed three days contain four learning strands for all those charged with making multi-professional working succeed. Delegates can follow their own profession’s strand or choose to mix and match across the programme. The four strands are: Policy into Practice - the Political Dimension; Growing Our People - the Workforce Dimension; Evidence Informed Policy and Practice - the Research Dimension; Making the Health Partnership Work – the Partnership Dimension. During autumn 2008 we will be providing preconference papers for those who would welcome a lead-in to the learning.
