Developing the Programme...

TWO years ago, the NEEC 2009 board said that every detail of the conference would be of the highest quality. It has kept its word:

  • The learning programme has been developed to be the broadest, and fullest, in memory. The content of each of the four strands is backed by cutting edge knowledge and emerging research.
  • The hospitality is seamless – train and plane collections service, comfortable country house style hotels, the warmest welcome and quite extraordinary entertainment.
  • The price, despite the enormous programme, has been held at 2008 prices – giving delegates unbeatable value in return for their conference fee.

For the past two years every effort has been taken to ensure that this conference will surprise, delight, educate and inspire all who are part of it.

Whether you are a delegate, speaker, sponsor or supplier, we can guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Real training, real accreditation, real jobs

Our young people are playing a huge part in NEEC2009. Throughout 2008, every Wirral school and college is working on a stunning arts extravaganza to fill Wirral's flagship PFI school on the first day of the conference. (After this the artwork will be moved to a range of venues including the Lady Lever Art Gallery in Port Sunlight for public display... and to allow the school to reopen to pupils!)

Other students are spending 2008 in accredited training in hospitality and catering to prepare them to meet and greet, guide and advise and help the hotels serve our NEEC 2009 guests. Still others are preparing tourism information packs for partners of delegates, so they, too, can come to Wirral and Chester and enjoy all the area has to offer.

Meanwhile, what we believe will be the world's longest poem is now being written by all Wirral's school children. The extraordinary 'I Dream of Being...' Poem, will be projected inside Weatherhead High School Media Arts College, the aspirations of an entire generation for the delegates to see. We have applied to the Guinness Book of Records!

Artwork from schools, colleges and University undergraduates is also being prepared for the Chester conference venue... while Wirral's primary age children are busy making exuberant sculptures and individual menu cards which will decorate the tables and welcome guests to the first evening's entertainment.
